Westchester County offers a broad range of business services and incentives that can increase your competitiveness and decrease your costs of doing business. A brief listing is below:

    Development Financing
    The acquisition, construction, reconstruction, equipping and/or furnishing of certain manufacturing, ndustrial, research and development, and not-for-profit projects can be funded from the proceeds of taxable and tax-exempt securities issued by the Westchester County Industrial Development Agency (WCIDA). The WCIDA can also provide exemptions from sales tax for certain pre-approved expenditures related to construction, furnishings, business equipment and capital equipment.     Transportation Resources and Tax Incentives for Commuters
    Westchester County possesses the strongest network of transit choices in our region with 54 bus routes within Westchester and direct service into Manhattan. Additionally, there are three major commuter rail lines serving Fairfield County, Hudson Valley and the boroughs of New York City. Tax incentives exist for the use of public transit by businesses and their employees through a program called Transit Chek.     Workforce Training and Recruitment
    Westchester possesses a broad range of educational resources to help your business train or recruit employees. Additionally, New York State subsidizes certain projects that hire and/or train workers for businesses. There are more than 20 post secondary schools and numerous business schools that are eager to contribute to the competitiveness of your workforce.     Demographic Data and Business Lists
    Accurate data on economic trends, statistics and strategic information is contained in the Westchester County Planning Department's annual "Data Book." Westchester also publishes an annual list of major employers.

    International Business and Foreign Trade
    Westchester County offers several professional resources to help businesses operate internationally. These resources include advice and information from skilled staff, county-sponsored videoconferences, special meetings and dignitary receptions, and educational programs. The county employs an Asian affairs specialist and has led several trade missions to China and various locations in Europe to promote trade.     Municipal Representation

    Workforce Recruitment and Skills Training
    Westchester's County's Workforce Investment Program can assist your business with recruiting and training employees. Tax credits for specific types of hiring and training are also available.

Additionally, tax credits are available for employers and employees who use public transportation.     Site Selection Assistance
    Free and confidential office space listings are available on Mr. Office Space, a user-friendly search engine that taps into a comprehensive database of available commercial, office, R&D and industrial space in Westchester County.     Conference and Meeting Facilities
    The County Center and a dozen county parks are available for meetings, conferences, seminars or employee outings. The Westchester County Center possesses 50,000 square feet of meeting and exhibition space. For information call (914) 242-6360.

    International Videoconferencing for Small to Mid-Size Companies
    Because Westchester County wants to help local companies interact with potential foreign customers and partners at little or no cost, it has made a standing offer to any small to mid-size business to use its international videoconferencing and web-based conferencing systems for free.
